ASA article from database citation in ASA format

This ASA citation guide has been provided to assist students studying sociology in properly citing and referencing their papers and essays. The information in this document is taken from the American Sociological Association Style Guide (4th ed., 2010). As a common ASA style used for citing sources like books, websites, articles from magazines, newspapers and etc.

According to ASA style guide a reference list follows the text and footnotes in a separate section headed References. All references cited in the text must be listed in the reference section, and vice versa. It is the author’s responsibility to ensure that publication information for each entry is complete and correct. It is worth noticing that creating citation is highly labor and time consuming process which could be facilitated by citation machine.

ASA citation generator is also available for creating citation for ASA journal article from Commercial database without DOI number assigned. For your information, not all articles have a DOI number. While the majority of articles published today do have DOI numbers, most older articles (more than two years old) do not. Some publishers are adding DOIs to their older articles, but it is a slow process. In this case it is required to use URL for the article used.

Let us clarify what exactly the commercial database present by itself. Commercial databases are simply collections of information presented electronically. Databases range in size from simple books made searchable, to several billion records in the larger news databases.
